Being a brand-new module for our agency management system, we had the opportunity to dedicate a good amount of time to research. I contributed by providing a competitive analysis of established products in the private and governmental sector. I’ve Identified recurring features, what competitors did well, what they lacked, common processes, etc. I assisted in user interviews of professionals from the park management industry. I was able to get a good understanding of what their day to day was, what could make their job more efficient and their general thoughts on the outdoors industry.
Once we had sufficient data from research, we had to synthesize our findings so that we could share our vision with stakeholders and then turn the vision into actionable items.

Participated in the creation of an informational hierarchy which helped to reveal an order of importance to all our elements

Created blockframes to help identify potential areas of opportunities,

In order to pitch our concept to stakeholders we created an MVP version of the ideal reservation system.
I was accountable for the creation of the administrative reservation system. I built features for Site Availability, Park Activity, Reservation Details and the Reservation Process. This also meant trying to reuse as much as the existing components all the while introducing new patterns and behaviours at the same time.
Prototyping example of the Reservation system that was built using Sketch.
